Aurora Blossom Dichroic Lampwork Focal Bead

This one-of-a-kind Aurora Blossom Lampwork Focal Bead captures the dreamy movement of layered pink, lavender, icy blue, and pearlescent white glass flowing together beneath a luminous, glossy surface.

Handcrafted in the flame using layered scraps of reactive and opaque glass, this bead developed soft watercolor-like folds and ribboned movement throughout the design. Shades of blush pink and orchid lavender swirl around cool pale blue and milky white tones, creating an airy palette that feels delicate, atmospheric, and almost celestial. This bead has shimmering dichroic accents in pink and blue.

Unlike highly structured designs, Aurora Blossom has an organic, painterly quality in which the colors melt and drift naturally into one another, creating depth, softness, and unexpected detail within every layer. Areas of translucency allow light to move through the bead while subtle reactions and shimmering highlights add dimension beneath the surface.

Encased beneath clear glass, the layered colors appear suspended inside the bead, shifting gently depending on lighting and viewing angle. The result is a focal bead that feels romantic, artistic, and full of quiet movement, almost like captured clouds, flower petals, or pastel skies frozen in glass.

Part of my Studio Bead series, this bead was created from leftover glass fragments and layered components gathered at the torch, making it a truly one-of-a-kind artisan piece that cannot be exactly replicated.
