SKU: SWFRIT73-AmethystRelic

Amethyst Relic Frit Blend captures the beauty of weathered amethyst crystals, antique stained glass, aged pottery glazes, and forgotten treasures shaped by time. This signature in-house artisan blend transforms dramatically in the flame, revealing layers of color and movement that cannot be fully appreciated from the frit alone.

At first glance, the blend appears to be a mixture of smoky purples, lavender, turquoise, ivory, tobacco, and dark reactive tones. As the glass melts, however, Amethyst Relic develops remarkable depth and complexity. Colors separate, soften, and interact to create flowing ribbons, marbling, mineral-like veining, and relic-inspired patterns that feel both organic and ancient.

Rich amethyst and violet tones mingle with soft lavender, muted turquoise, creamy ivory, warm tobacco hues, and reactive dark accents. Depending on the application technique, the blend can produce dramatically different results. Mosaic applications often highlight the individual colors and reactive effects, while swirl techniques create flowing layers reminiscent of polished amethyst, weathered stone, and antique glass. Encasing adds depth and luminosity while enhancing the blend's internal movement and gemstone-like character.

Designed for 96 COE glass systems, Amethyst Relic works beautifully for lampworking, fusing, glass blowing, and surface decoration techniques. The blend excels in mosaic, swirl, and encased applications, producing beads and glasswork that feel both elegant and mysterious, like fragments of an ancient artifact rediscovered after centuries hidden away.

Unlike traditional purple blends that focus primarily on bright violet tones, Amethyst Relic incorporates warm earth tones, smoky neutrals, reactive elements, and subtle turquoise accents, creating a richer, more sophisticated color story. The result is a blend that can feel elegant, earthy, vintage, or mystical, depending on how it is used.
