Driftwood Stone Sparkle Frit Blend, 2 oz, 96 COE

Bring soft, earthy dimension and a touch of shimmer to your glasswork with the Driftwood Stone Sparkle Frit Blend, an original SWCreations mix inspired by weathered wood, shoreline stones, shells, and naturally layered coastal tones.

This 96 COE frit blend combines a range of warm and cool neutrals with slightly richer amber and golden tones than the original Driftwood Stone blend. Gold Aventurine adds scattered metallic sparkle that catches the light while still allowing the soft, organic character of the blend to remain the focus.

Driftwood Stone Sparkle works especially well in lampwork beads, creating warm mosaic patterns, mottled stone and shell-like effects, and flowing swirls reminiscent of polished agate, weathered wood grain, and translucent shoreline stones. Mosaic applications can produce especially interesting variation, including smoky, earthy, and occasionally abalone-like reactions depending on the base glass.

The blend can look dramatically different depending on how it is worked. Swirl applications tend to soften the colors into warm beige, taupe, amber, and smoky ribbons, while mosaic techniques keep more of the individual tones and reactions visible. Semi-reactive and darker base glasses can bring out especially interesting depth and contrast.

The blend is designed for 96 COE glass and may also be used sparingly with 104 COE glass, generally around 5–10% of the total design. As with any mixed-COE application, testing is recommended.

Use Driftwood Stone Sparkle for earthy jewelry, coastal-inspired beads, woodland designs, organic stone and shell effects, shimmering swirls, and projects that call for a warm natural palette with understated sparkle.
