Some of the most beautiful color palettes aren't planned. They're discovered.

Wild Orchid began as an experiment while exploring new possibilities inspired by our popular Paris Pink Frit Blend. As the colors evolved, the palette slowly shifted away from soft roses and toward something entirely different. Cooler violets emerged. Lavender became more prominent. Gentle orchid pinks replaced warmer floral tones.

Rather than trying to recreate Paris Pink, I followed where the glass wanted to go.

Wild Orchid became its own blend.

Inspired by Nature

Pink and lavender wild orchid flower that inspired the colors of the Wild Orchid 96 COE glass frit blend by SWCreations.

Orchids are admired for their graceful beauty and remarkable range of color. Their petals often blend blush pinks, lavender, violet, creamy white, and hints of deeper purple in soft transitions that seem almost painted by nature.

That feeling became the inspiration behind Wild Orchid.

Rather than copying a single flower, this blend captures the elegance and gentle color movement found throughout blooming orchids.

One Blend, Multiple Personalities

One of my favorite discoveries while testing Wild Orchid was how differently it responds to various techniques.

The swirl beads reveal flowing ribbons of pink and lavender that resemble delicate orchid petals. The colors blend together effortlessly, creating soft movement throughout each bead.

The mosaic beads develop a completely different personality. Individual colors remain more defined, allowing orchid purples, blush pinks, creamy whites, and deeper violet accents to interact while preserving the blend's floral character.

Neither style is better.

Each simply reveals a different side of the same palette.

In the shimmer beads, the clear glass magnifies the colors, while gold aventurine adds beautiful warmth and sparkling contrast.

From Paris Pink to Wild Orchid

Many of our blends evolve through careful testing rather than strict formulas.

Paris Pink provided the starting point, a collection of soft romantic colors that became one of our most popular blends.

While exploring new variations, the palette gradually shifted. Cooler violets appeared. Lavender became more prominent. The blend became softer, more floral, and more reminiscent of blooming orchids than spring roses.

Rather than forcing it back toward Paris Pink, I followed where the colors wanted to go.

Wild Orchid became its own blend with its own personality.

Sometimes the glass tells you what it wants to become.

Handcrafted in Small Batches

Wild Orchid reactive 96 COE lampwork glass frit blend featuring orchid pink, lavender, white and cobalt blue glass.

Every jar of Wild Orchid frit is hand-blended in small batches using premium, compatible 96 COE glass from Reichenbach and Gaffer.

Each batch is mixed by hand to preserve the balance of soft orchid pinks, lavender, violet, creamy whites, and subtle blue accents that give the blend its distinctive floral appearance.

Because every batch is handcrafted, slight variation is part of its character, something machine-produced color mixes simply can't replicate.

A Blend That Invites Creativity

Whether you're creating elegant lampwork beads, fused glass artwork, blown vessels, or experimenting with new techniques, Wild Orchid encourages exploration.

Every finished piece becomes a little different. Every firing reveals something unexpected. And like the flower that inspired it, no two creations are ever exactly alike.
