ABOUT THE JEWELRY

Bead Art Necklaces
These Bead Art necklaces were inspired by Beth Stone Beaded Jewelry Designs, who creates both new and vintage jewelry with pearls, sterling silver and seed beads. Thanks to Beth's article in Bead & Button magazine I was inspired to take these a step further to create individual pendants, with more embellishment than folding, and a Bali silver ring. These pendants eventually evolved into the...

All Mixed Up© Series
Inspiration comes to me at the strangest times. For instance, I can see a design like the one below and it inspires me to try something. My result was nothing like what inspired me in the first place and so I ended up with a new design that I really enjoy creating. There are only a few created at this time, but I am eager to create more pendants with more bead combinations.

BeadArtistic Pendants
One of the drawbacks to becoming busier is that I have less time to do the artistic work I used to do.

Recently, I started playing around with artistic wire and created two very interesting pendants with the same techniques I used above. I really like that these pendants are reversible and no two are identical.

Fleuri Art Domino Pendants

These wonderful designs were inspired by a Domino Stamping class taught by Sandy Forrest-Hartman. In Sandy's domino stamping class we created the dominos in the photograph on the left. While taking this class I wondered if it would be possible to somehow bring my flower, leaves, and butterfly photographs into my jewelry designs.

As an artist, I like to take newly learned techniques, expand them, and create a style that is all my own. I discovered almost any look can be created by using my own collection of nature photographs. I created an interesting texture to normal game dominos by utilizing my quilting supplies and skills. After some trial and error, I created the 'Fleuri' Flower Art Dominos in photograph on the right. I soon discovered I could put just about any image on the dominos and create a complimenting beaded necklace to match.

Cellini Spiral Necklaces

These wonderful designs were inspired by Deb Samuel’s Cellini Spiral article in Bead & Button, this was the pattern that first sparked my interest in seed bead designs. Her peyote pattern inspired me to create the segments as individual beads, add crystals into the pattern, and do a size increase for a graduated necklace.

My BeadLoved Button Jewelry
Worn as a Symbol to Own Your Own Button

If you own your own button, then it can not be pushed! I have found there is always someone you encounter in life that enjoys confrontation. One day after dealing with one of these very types of individuals I decided my buttons belonged to me and they could only push them if I allowed it. Suddenly that is when the vintage button came to mind and from that thought, the creations of beautiful pendants and necklaces developed. These necklaces are created as symbol to own your own button and it helps to have a reminder at difficult moments that it is my choice to not respond. Design inspired by button pushers. How many days can you go without letting someone push your buttons?
