Sometimes the most meaningful jewelry begins with a lesson.

Years ago, during a particularly challenging chapter of my life, I found myself repeatedly facing a difficult choice: react emotionally or rise above. Like many people, I had someone in my life who seemed to know exactly how to "push my buttons." Every conversation felt like a test of patience, self-control, and perspective.

One day, while sorting through a collection of vintage buttons and found objects, a simple thought struck me:

What if I owned my buttons instead of letting someone else push them?

That idea inspired what would eventually become my BeadLoved Collection.

Owning Your Buttons

We all have emotional buttons.

Sometimes they are tied to old wounds, insecurities, frustrations, or fears. Certain people seem to know exactly where those buttons are and how to press them. It can be easy to react, defend ourselves, or become caught in a cycle of negativity.

But there is power in recognizing that our reactions belong to us.

When we learn to pause, breathe, and choose our response, those buttons lose their power. We stop handing control of our emotions to someone else.

That simple concept became the heart of these pendants.

Turning Buttons Into Art

Each pendant in the BeadLoved Collection was created using vintage and decorative buttons combined with unique metal findings, crystals, and artisan elements. What many people see as ordinary objects became meaningful wearable art.

The buttons symbolize the emotional triggers we all carry.

The intricate settings surrounding them represent growth, resilience, and the beauty that can emerge from difficult experiences.

Rather than hiding our buttons, these pieces celebrate them. They remind us that our experiences help shape who we become.

More Than Jewelry

As I created each design, I found the process unexpectedly healing.

What began as a creative project became a visual reminder of a lesson I was still learning: other people may try to push your buttons, but only you decide how you respond.

Today, when I look at these pendants, I don't think about conflict.

I think about strength.

I think about growth.

I think about choosing peace when chaos would be easier.

And I think about the freedom that comes from no longer allowing someone else to control your emotional state.

From the Vault

Many of these pieces were created years ago and recently rediscovered in my studio archives. Seeing them again reminded me not only of the artistic journey behind them, but also of the personal journey that inspired them.

The message remains just as relevant today as it was when I first made it:

Own your buttons. Don't let others push them.

Sometimes the smallest objects can carry the biggest lessons.
